Admission of GRS Government and Penampang MP’s Failure?

PENAMPANG : Parti Warisan extended its appreciation to Gagasan Rakyat’s Supreme Council Member and Honorary Advisor for Moyog, John Ambrose for highlighting the failure of the 21 month full Federal Minister Member of Parliament for Penampang and the current GRS Government to deliver the much needed development and assistance in that district.

The Vice President of Warisan, Terrence Siambun said that the flood mitigation plan, new Penampang Hospital and education matter in the district mentioned by Ambrose are listed under the Federal/Concurrent lists thus it reflect the inability of the current MP, Ewon Benedict to deliver what Penampang folks expected.

“Ewon’s tenure as a Federal Minister has now exceeded Darell Leiking’s 17 months yet he (Ewon) is still unable to do the closures despite the development plans for the flood mitigation and hospital have already been approved during Warisan tenure.

So while I emphatize with John’s frustration with PH (and Ewon) that many in Penampang equally perceive as incompetent, I must correct his contention that DUN Moyog lacked development because it is represented by Warisan.

It seems that John opines that the GRS Government can only realized all the necessary development to Moyog if it is being represented by a Government assemblyperson despite the fact that GRS is in total control of both the district and State Government with Penampang district councillors, UPPMs and JKKKs were all appointed by GRS.

So by John’s logic, does he mean that the non-existence of hospital, effective flood mitigation or better education facilities desperately needed at DUN Membakut confirm the failure of GRS’s assemblyman, Mohd Ariffin Bin Arif because he never deliver the same despite numerous calls by Membakut folks over the years?

In fact, Jahid Jahim confirmed at the DUN sitting that since Moyog is represented by an opposition assemblyman, GRS-appointed UPPM of Moyog represents and attend the constituency in the District Action Committee of the Penampang District Action Council on matters relating to progress and development in Penampang.

So in this case, it is the failure of GRS appointed Government officials to bring progress and development not only in Moyog but the rests of the opposition held seats in Sabah.

But one need not to see how DUN Moyog is being administered by GRS – even Tuaran that supposedly be enjoying the benefits of having a sitting Chief Minister is in a sorry state.

This shows us how incompetent GRS is in administrating the State,” he stated in a statement today.

Siambun also advise the Gagasan Rakyat’s Divisional Chief, Mandela Malakun who is also the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister to sort out all issues in the Penampang before talking too much about election.

“Moyog folks are still waiting for the RM1,000 flood assistance promised by GRS last July and with the incoming monsoon transition as announced by the Federal Minister, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad a few days ago that may cause floodings not only in the Peninsular but Sabah as well, he (Mandela) must act quickly to ensure the outstanding assistance are being disbursed without any further delay.

And since the Chief Minister, Hajiji Mohd Noor had appointed Joachim Gunsalam as the Minister of Housing and Local Government whilst the district local councillors were appointed by GRS, then as the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mandela should bring the grouses of the Penampang folks on the exhorbitant parking fees of RM1.50 per hour at Donggongon Town and other commercial areas in the district to the attention of the Minister of Housing and Local Government to enable it being tabled during the next State Cabinet meeting for review,” he concluded.
