KOTA KINABALU : Parti Warisan today reminded Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah to choose its partners carefully for PRN17 in view of the mounting discontent by Sabahans over the continuous impediments faced by Sabah in relation to MA63, 40% entitlement, annual development fundings and more recently, the perceived sellout to GRS over the ‘Kickback Scandals’ involving several GRS State assemblymen.

The party’s Women Chief, Norfaizah Chua claimed that the weak and incompetent leadership on the part of GRS had caused huge reputation losses on PH Sabah within the eyes of the electorates.
“I believe PH Sabah’s leader in the likes of Ewon Benedict, Phoong Jin Zhe and Christina Liew who were part of the State Cabinet in 2018-2020 will still remember how our President, Shafie Apdal displayed the strength of leadership and accountability on matters relating to the State’s interests and to personally handle any criticism from the opposition back then.
PH Sabah leaders also had open, direct access to Shafie and there was no need to arrange for dinner to explain to PH Sabah on any controversial issue (including the heinous slander that Warisan is pro-PTI) similar to the ones held by Hajiji Mohd Noor recently.
As to the dinner between Hajiji and several PH Sabah Cabinet Ministers, many are wondering why it had to be arranged because this depict the absence of openess and honesty between GRS and PH Sabah.
And for PH Sabah to readily accept explanation from Hajiji during the said dinner is unbelievable because even a simple villager will not simply sell his/her land just because of a free lunch,” she said in a statement today.
Norfaizah also urged PH Sabah to match the commitment shown by Warisan and its leaders, Shafie Apdal and Darell Leiking in curbing corruption in the State by demanding GRS/ Hajiji to place senior officers from MACC in State Governmental offices and to allow them have full access to do inspection.
“Under WarisanPlus, Sabah made the history by becoming the first State in Malaysia to place senior officer from MACC in the Chief Minister’s Office and it is rather unfortunate that the change of Government in 2020 prevented placement of officers in other State Governmental offices.
The purpose of placing such officers was to end the corruption legacy problems faced by Warisan that were causing nuisance and disruption to the State especially on matters involving the local district authorities.
So in consideration to PH Sabah continue giving support to GRS on the basis of preserving the so-called political stability, the former should also demand the placement of senior officers from MACC in the Chief Minister’s Office and in particular, the Lands and Surveys Department, Forestry Department and Jabatan Hasil Bumi.
Numerous complaints have been made by the Sabahans on matters involving Land grabbing and illegal logging year after year so these officers must be given full power to investigate these issues.
This is what Warisan will exactly do if the people is agreeable to give us the mandate to form the new State Government because corruption, especially within the district level, had been causing much trouble to the Sabahans,” she concluded.
