The ‘Kickback Scandal’ that implicated several GRS state assemblymen necessitate an overhaul of the State’s administrative system through a new blueprint that will focuses on transparency and accountability.

The State’s water and electricity supply issues and sorry condition of our roads were all caused by corruption resulting Sabah now becoming the poorest State in Malaysia.
Thus corruption is a sensitive matter for the Sabahans especially when ‘kopi-kopi’ culture in relation to the issuance of licenses is causing much annoyance to legit Sabahan business communities.
How will honest and hardworking Sabahans compete with non Sabahans when the latter can easily procure and operate their businesses without adhering to existing laws and By-Laws?
The proliferation of Pakistani sundry shops all over the State that supposedly be categorized as sole proprietorship but operated by non-Malaysian workers is only one of the example of how corruption is deeply rooted in Sabah not only in politics but our economy as well.
And how can Sabahans forget the infamous Sabah’s ‘frogging’ incidence in 2020 and the subsequent years that follows? Which side is all these State Assemblypersons now belong to? Whatever excuses they gave (for hopping), the fact remain that even the former Police Chief, Tan Sri Hamid Bador (in his farewell speech) believe the act they did is despicable and tantamount to corruption.
During the Warisan administration in 2018-2020, we created the history by becoming the first State in Malaysia to place an MACC senior officer in the Chief Minister’s Officer as our commitment to combat the problematic corruption practices at that material time inherited from our predecessors.
Upon receiving mandate from the Sabahans to form the new State Government, Warisan will once again place MACC officers in Government’s offices and additionally for the overhaul, the party will be working together with several national and international anti-corruption bodies in producing a new blueprint to effect transparent and accountable governance in Sabah at all level.
This blueprint will be based on Singapore’s anti-corruption and transparency model since the country currently sits at 5th place in the Transparency International Corruption Perception Index (TI-CPI) 2023 and the only Asian country in top 10.
